A further overnight hotel stay,

Barbados

This is probably the most popular island for British holiday makers and the first of three Caribbean destinations. There are two reasons for this - the incredible white sand beaches on the sheltered western side of the island and because it's the only Caribbean Island to be colonised by one nation – the Brits! You will even find a Trafalgar Square here. Bridgetown is the capital lying in the South Western corner of the island.
There is a large cruise dock where shuttle buses take you from the cruise ship to the terminal. The closest beach to the cruise terminal is Boatyard Beach - a white sand happening beach that is well equipped particularly in its Adventure Beach area with lots of things to do. There is an entrance charge which includes sunbeds and a free shuttle back to your ship. Barbados is famous for its Golf Courses – particularly at Sandy Lane, its cricket and perhaps take time out to visit Sunbury Plantation House over 300 years old.

Make your way to the cruise port in Bridgetown to embark the ship.

Azamara Quest

Enjoy a cruise with Azamara Quest – an exclusive floating boutique resort with a classic touch. The interior is luxurious, but there are no formal dress codes – it’s always resort-casual onboard.

St Lucia

St Lucia the second of the top three islands in the Caribbean and also one of our favourites. Another lush tropical island and part of the Windward Island group. The capital is Castries in the North West and there is a lush verdant rain forest in the centre. This island is volcanic and is most famous for Les Pitons – two twin conical shaped mountains.
St Lucia became part of the British Common wealth as recently as 1979. Unlike many islands St Lucia is not wholly reliant on the cruise ships and it exports much of its produce such as bananas, coconut, cocoa, nutmeg and sugar cane. There are charming fishing villages, bustling markets, & stunning volcanic scenery. Check out picturesque Marigot Bay the location of many films, trek through the rainforest and take a refreshing dip in a waterfall or be adventurous and take a jungle top zip wire adventure. The best beach is Rodney Bay with its white sands or longer Reduit Beach - both north of Castries.

Dominica

Dominica was discovered by Columbus in 1493 and was named after the day he discovered it – Sunday ! This mountainous lush tropical island belonging to the Leeward Island group is approximately 30 miles long by 15 miles wide. The capital Roseau lies in the South Western corner and is very picturesque at the foot of green hills and mountains. Ships usually moor at the quayside and you are right in the heart of the town. The roads here are extremely narrow and steep – but its worth the 1 hour journey to Ti Tou Gorge where there is a refreshing waterfall amidst the rain forest. On the way back check out the Sulphur Springs and take a photo stop at the Botanical gardens overlooking Roseau and the bay. Another supremely wonderful activity is river tubing on the Layou River - fab u lous. Not great for beaches. The sail away from Dominica is beautiful – one of the best in the Caribbean.

St Kitts

St Kitts is a member of the British Commonwealth and lies at the top of the Lesser Antilles chain close to Antigua. Cruise ships moor at the cruise pier called port Zante in the capital Basseterre right in front of the shops. Visit Brimstone Hill National Park known as the Gibraltar of the West Indies and the sister island of Nevis just a 45 minute ferry ride way. Get a good feel for the island on the scenic railway – originally built to transport sugar cane or chill out at one of the best beaches on the island Cockleshell Beach. This 2 mile stretch of white sand beach is relatively unspoilt and overlooks the island of Nevis. Try an invigorating natural Aloe Vera massage on the beach – it does wonders for your sunburn!

Nevis (St Kitts)

Charlestown, the charming capital of Nevis, offers a peaceful Caribbean escape rich in history, culture and natural beauty. Located in the twin-island nation of St Kitts and Nevis, Charlestown sits just across The Narrows from St Kitts, approximately 3km (2 miles) away at its closest point, with regular ferry services connecting the two islands. Visitors can explore Georgian-style architecture, colourful streets and the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, while enjoying easy access to pristine beaches and lush tropical landscapes. Surrounded by the beauty of Nevis Peak and warm Caribbean waters, Charlestown is an ideal destination for relaxation, island exploration and authentic Caribbean hospitality.

St Maarten

This island was settled at different periods buy both the Dutch and the French so there are two distinct halves to the island. The capital is Philipsburg where the cruise ships dock at the quayside. This is a delightful warren of narrow streets with interesting shops and leafy courtyard cafes. This is a wonderful place to wander around starting in Wathey Square where you will fund a fine collection of West Indian Gingerbread houses. The French Capital is Marigot- worth visiting for its markets, café lined waterfront and the chic boutiques of Marina Port La Royale. If you are feeling really adventurous perhaps head to world famous Maho beach at the end of the runway to experience aircraft taking off and landing directly overhead.

St Thomas

St Thomas is part of the US Virgin Islands and THE duty free shopper's paradise in the Caribbean. Charlotte Amalie is the capital – and this quaint town is a joy to walk around with its cobbled streets and alley ways filled with the best shops in the Caribbean – but not so much “in your face” as the other islands. Unlike most of the other islands this is the US of A in the Caribbean – it is clean, organised and well run; you may think that you are in one of the Florida Keys. The best beach is Magens Bay (voted one of the top 10 beaches of the world) and is approximately six miles away from the capital on the other side of the island.

San Juan (Puerto Rico)

San Juan is the capital of the island which is 110 miles long by 40 miles wide and was claimed by Christopher Columbus for Spain in 1493. Spain possessed Puerto Rico for over 400 years, despite attempts by France, the Netherlands, and England to capture the island. Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States where Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens. Attractions include Bioluminescent Bay- a truly brilliant natural wonder, this bay, particularly on moonless nights, literally glows in the dark. Flamenco beach is in a nearly wave-less, sheltered cove where fish swim right up to the edge of the water that is waist deep for quite a stretch and has at least 20 yards of crystal clear visibility underwater. Visit the El Yunque rainforest where you can swim in the waterfall.

Virgin Gorda (British Virgin Islands)

Virgin Gorda is one of the most spectacular islands in the British Virgin Islands, famed for its breathtaking natural beauty and relaxed Caribbean atmosphere. Located just a short ferry ride of around 11km (7 miles) from Tortola, it is best known for The Baths, a world-famous collection of giant granite boulders, hidden rock caves, sea pools and grottoes that create one of the Caribbean’s most iconic beach experiences. Visitors can explore winding trails through the rocks, swim in crystal-clear waters and unwind on stunning white-sand beaches. With excellent snorkelling, sailing, luxury resorts and panoramic viewpoints, Virgin Gorda is the perfect destination for a tranquil and unforgettable Caribbean escape.

Antigua

Antigua is one of the top three Caribbean Islands for the British holiday maker – being a great destination in itself; Antigua has 365 beaches - one for every day of the year; the most popular ones being Galley Bay and Hawksbill Beaches. Antigua is extremely popular with the sailing fraternity with many marinas packed with expensive yachts. Nelson's fleet was hosted in the late 1700's in a picturesque bay on the other side of the island to the capital and is now one of the best-known bays for said sailing fraternity – now aptly named Nelson's Dockyard.

Martinique

Martinique blends French elegance with Caribbean beauty, offering charming historic sites, lush tropical landscapes and spectacular volcanic scenery. A French overseas department since 1946, the island is rich in history, culture and sophistication. St Pierre, its historic heart, sits within the Lesser Antilles between Dominica and Guadeloupe. Visitors can explore colourful waterfront streets, historic ruins, black-sand beaches and fascinating volcanic heritage, including shipwrecks and diving sites linked to the devastating 1902 eruption of Mount Pelée.

Bequia (St Vincent and the Grenadines)

Bequia is one of the Caribbean’s most enchanting island escapes, offering laid-back charm, golden sandy beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Part of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, this unspoilt paradise is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, colourful harbour at Port Elizabeth and excellent sailing opportunities. Relax on the beautiful shores of Princess Margaret Beach, explore hidden coves or enjoy fresh seafood at waterfront restaurants. With superb snorkelling, diving and island-hopping adventures nearby, Bequia is perfect for travellers seeking an authentic Caribbean experience away from the crowds, surrounded by stunning natural beauty and year-round sunshine.

Grenada

Known as the Spice island where the aromas of Nutmeg, cinnamon and Cocoa hang in the air. This volcanic island with tropical rainforests and waterfalls lies at the southern end of the Windward Island chain. Most ships dock at the quayside, and the closest beach is Grand Anse beach -a two mile stretch of white sand. Perhaps visit the Grand Etang cobalt blue lake and take a refreshing dip in the Royal Mt Carmel waterfall or perhaps go river tubing on the Balthazar River. There is also the unique underwater sculpture park at Molinere Point for keen snorkelers.

Trinidad & Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago are an exercise in beautiful contradiction. In Trinidad, pristine mangrove swamps and rain-forested hills sit side by side with smoke-belching oil refineries and ugly industrial estates. Tobago has everything you'd expect from a Caribbean island, with palm trees and white sand aplenty, yet it's relatively unchanged by the tourist industry. Combined, this twin-island republic offers unparalleled bird-watching, first-class diving, luxuriant rainforests prime for hiking, waterfall swimming and cycling, and electric nightlife, with the fabulous Carnival easily the biggest and best of the region's annual blowouts.

Disembark the ship after breakfast and transfer to the aiport for your overnight flight home.
